Conation is a social impact startup that was founded in the pursuit of an audacious yet profound goal: to modernize the way mainstream philanthropy is perceived and practiced across major cities like Chicago.
We believe that if we are ever going to create sustainable social and economic change we need to not only harness the giving power of a community, but to remove the barriers that often complicate or discourage those wanting to give back.
Through conversations with nonprofits and those they serve, one message has become abundantly clear. We can no longer wait for someone else to solve our city's most pressing social issues. While we wait, these problems are persistently getting worse. The reality is that each of us has a social responsibility to help better the lives of those vulnerable and marginalized in our own communities.
