Chicago Hopes for Kids is dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering Chicago students and families experiencing homelessness. They are unique in providing comprehensive educational and specialized support directly to children in this situation. With over a decade of service, they serve more than 325 students annually through academic support, dedicated mentorship, and basic needs services. Their programs include Ready Readers, Literacy Leaders, Summer Enrichment, and a Parent Program. They operate in 10 shelters and community-based sites across Chicago, focusing on areas like Rogers Park, Uptown, Lakeview, Austin, Englewood, South Shore, Back of the Yards, and South Chicago. Their approach is holistic, engaging the full humanity of the community and building intimate, honest connections to combat poverty and support academic success.
